An informal club whose members get together from time to time to SING!

Canta Cathenesia is a singing club with a difference! There are many excellent singing groups, choral, church, Gaelic, jazz, pop, in Caithness. Many of them meet regularly, weekly or fortnightly to rehearse for a forthcoming performance. Canta Cathensia's members meet whenever simply TO SING!

Membership of Canta Cathenesia is free and open to anyone who can speak. What's that mean? So many people have failed to discover the joy and real health benefits that come from singing because they 'have been told' or think that they cannot sing. If this is you, try this simple test. Can you hum a favourite tune? Or if nothing comes to mind, try something like Scotland the Brave or something from the charts. Now try it again this time with your mouth slightly open. You're singing!

Of course, there's a lot more to singing than this, and Canta Cathenesia is there to help you along. If you're a real beginner, can't appear to hold a tune and people seem to hold their ears whenever you try, we'll show you how to do it properly! If you're a superb singer, you'll be able to sing with other singers to perfect blending, dynamics and tone.
